At last, a cure for insomnia…. - In pursuing my MCDBA qualification I have used Microsoft books. I had left this exam to the end, previous Microsoft books have served me well - until now. It seems the authors of this book have gone out of their way to make what is already a difficult subject virtually unbearable. They have gone to excruciating lengths to provide pointless details not required in the exam. The language is ‘cumbersome’, taking many sentences/paragraphs to explain a simple point. The words ‘clarity’ and ‘succinct’ cannot be used to describe this book.Considering Microsoft exams are scenario based this book does little to help. The questions provided at the end of each lesson are not scenario based and although the answers are provided there are no explanations whatsoever as to why the answer was right or wrong. There is a distinct lack of exam tips, notes and warnings compared to other books.I eventually gave up and settled for the New Riders Training guide. The difference was incredible. However, the book does cover the subjects being examined (although too thoroughly), but then so do others and they tend to do it much better. This book will be useful for network geeks, masochists or to stand on whilst dusting the top of a cupboard. Better still, don’t buy it.
